Guest guest
Hello All, Has anyone taken Levothyroxine? I've been recently diagnosed with Hypothyroidism (Hashimoto Disorder) and was put on .025mg of Levothyroxine. It didn't make me feel any better. My blood test was still elevated (slightly) so my PCP doubled my dose to .050mg. Well, ever since then, I've began having odd symptoms that continued to progress and worsen over a month. I had a blood test last week and my levels are normal now, but I didn't take my dose that morning before the blood test. Last time, I took the pill before the test. Anyway, my endocrinologist told me to either go down to my initial dose or alternate between the two every other day. I'm too afraid to take this stuff again. I asked her if there is a different med I can take and she said no. So, I told her I'll think about it and talk to my PCP, as she suggested. My PCP hasn't called me back since Tuesday. She's a moron, I'm sorry. Am I in danger? What do I do now? Anyone else ever had this before or now? God Bless, Maggie.
Guest guest
My mom took Levoxyl, which is the same drug/same family as Levothyroxine. She had horrible side effects from it- extremely cranky (to put it nicely), hot flashes, not sleeping. After talking to a few different people about it she found out that others have the same problem with the generic but not with the name brand, Synthroid. The PCP argued with her about it but finally relented and wrote her a script for Synthroid. She hasn't had any of side effects since switching. & Ivy- service dog extraordinaire www.k94life.org On 8/13/2011 7:19 PM, areby77@... wrote: > > Hello All, > > Has anyone taken Levothyroxine? > > I've been recently diagnosed with Hypothyroidism (Hashimoto Disorder) > and was put on .025mg of Levothyroxine.
