Thank you for this, alana. I've had nothing but trouble with my g-tube, my

body just won't heal around it. My dr doesn't know anything though, what

exactly is the silver coat & where can I find it? Does it cover an existing

tube or is it it's own thing?

,

You may have developed a latex allergy. I did a couple of years ago. I am very

careful now.

It's silver coating over the latex tube. I know they're available for

indwelling catheters and endotracheal tubes. Ask a gastroenterologist. G-Tubes

are a lot like urinary catheters, though, maybe the silver coating is

counter-indicated around stomach acid. I can't find anything online.

I have had a lot of trouble with my g-tube site, BUT am still really glad I

got one. It has improved my quality of life immensely.
