Guest guest
Re: Touch Phones I'm using an iPhone but have I hard time with the recessed Home button even after modifying it but raising it with a bolt. Also, AT & T service is poor in the SF Bay Area. I'm considering an Evo because the home button is touch sensitive. Will play with it more when I get to an electronics store. My problem with these phones is if they go to 'sleep' or dark to save power, then I usually can't push their external button to reactivate them. I usually leave the screen dimly lit all day on my iPhone unless someone is around to help with buttons. This requires diligent charging. Alana > > Hello everyone! We have until the 31st to return it, so I am thinking about using the money from that to put down on something else. I am looking for other brands- what have you had luck with that is sensitive enough for a light touch? Is the Kindle a good one? Or do you recommend skipping the e-reader and just going straight to an iPad? Brett did not particularly want or ask for an e-reader but she has her mind set on it, so I am just trying to figure out the best option for him. We (Brett & I) would prefer an ipad but ya know......sometimes it doesn't matter what I think or say! Obviously, I would pay the difference between the two if we decide that is the best option...just wondering for those of you that have an e-reader if you think it is a good idea to get one. > > And I know this has been discussed before but which touch cell phones are you guys able to use? Brett can use my blackberry a little bit but he gets tired and I have no experience with touch screen phones, as I am too cheap to spend that kind of money on a phone (my blackberry was sold to me very cheap by a friend who upgrades often). > > Thanks in advance!!! > > Kristal- Mom to Brett- SMA II- 11 years old > Visit Brett @ www.our-sma-angels.com/brett > OR www.caringbridge.org/visit/brettwilson > >
Guest guest
I have the Sony touch reader and I love it! I get my books from either from a library (local or Philadelphia because they offer out of state cards cheap) or Bookshare. It's pretty easy for me to use, I just need someone to set it on the table and turn it on and I'm set. The newer Sony uses an infrared touchscreen so it's more sensitive. I picked the Sony because it has an e-ink screen, I tend to read for hours at a time and staring at a LCD for long periods hurt my eyes. I believe Sony is probably the only touchscreen e-ink reader that's more readily available. It may be better to go with an ipad because Brett could do more than just read with it (especially if he's not big into reading in the first place). Plus, if he's into comics or graphic novels they're going to look much better on color LCD. I really don't know much about the ipad because it's a capacitive touchscreen and with my bent fingers and girly fingernails, me and capacitive touchscreens don't mix. For cellphones, my dad and I go into a T-mobile (or whoever you have) store and try out different phones to see which works for me. Then once we find one, he looks on Ebay for a cheaper slightly used model. & Ivy- service dog extraordinaire www.k94life.org On 1/16/2011 9:18 PM, Kristal wrote: > > Hello everyone! Guest guest
Hello! I use the Sony PRS-505 for over a year now and love it! The battery life is great and I have all my books with me. However I prefer reading real books. My brother has an iPad and it is wonderful but also really big. I use the Archos 70 which is an e-Reader also. My phone is an iPhone and I would never ever get an other phone. Have a nice day, Camilla
Guest guest
Hey would anyone happen to know how to remove or disable the swipe to unlock part of an android phone? Very annoying and sometimes impossible to do in a emergency. Thanks, Doug
