Hi ,

I plan on staying as I'm feeling as though I finally found parents that do

not have the perfect kids an actually admit it. I am at odds with this

behavior thing with Zeb! He isn't that bad at home, not perfect, but

certainly nothing like at school. His teachers are very good but the aide is

an ass. I tried to have her replace for her lack of skills and the district

accused me of dictating personnel. If you don't advocate for your child no

one else will. I have to follow my heart and gut instinct. I'm not in a good

mood today. My husband is away on business. I am enjoying the mini vacation.

I listen to everyone rave about the good guys,I'm jealous. He is not really

bad but not that supportive ,after 30 yrs. he is tired of kids.

charlyne,

welcome and please stay. your not alone in lacking the most supportive

husband. my hubby loves us and provides a good life for us, but all the

school, medical, and legal battles i endure alone. other than given him an

piece of my mind and a good tongue lashing when i am pissed, he is invisible

in these matters. i fight the school tooth and nail alone, i search for

medical things/drug information/behavior all alone...so your not alone, this

list is my life support and savior as the past months have been very rough

to me. i am sure i have had several mini nervous breakdowns..lmao one day

maybe i will put myself on drugs......hang in there and welcome to you and

yours....leah

Leah,

Ok, you must have morphed into my life and read my mind! Same goes here!

All the school, medical, drug, behavior (except for an occasional

criticism of the way I do things) is left to me for Matt. Sometimes I

get very frustrated with it, but the alternatives are not acceptable

(either place Matt out of the home, or place hubby out of the home!) so I

just keep praying for strenght and insight, and trust that I will get it.

And when we compare our lives to the lives of some people, it is easy to

see that we do indeed have it " easy " . We are not living on the streets,

begging for food. We have the freedom to practice our religion, we

homeschoool our older children, we have enough food, clothing and

shelter, plus some left over for a few nicities. My kids know my mom very

well. (from living with us-I try to focus on the good part of her being

here!), and they intimately know the trials of someone with a disability.

Well, Matt is off doing something. I better get.

Leah, stop reading my mind!!!

LOL

Hi ,

I am glad to know that I am not the only wife that carries the load. I also

have a business, thankfully seasonal and I also carry the financial burdens.

I am blessed that I can maintain strength, stamina and perseverence to make

each day count. My husband is in Fl. picking up a piece of equipment for me

because of this school crap I needed to be home. I am really interested in

everyones battles with the school. I am almost ready for due process. I am

well versed in the special ed laws but this fight is the worst of my life.

why is this? as supportive as my husband is ans as wonderful as he is with Nick

and all the kids, the school and medical stuff always falls to me....even

asking questions and trying to find out more....almost like he wouldn't know

what to ask? It then is hard to explain everything I have found out because

there is SO little time to sit and talk!
