I thought in everything that I read that siblings can't both have

?? My 2 1/2 year old son was diagnosed with it last year. Last

week my 15 month old daughter had a high fever for 6 days, high WBC,

nasty throat. All tests came back negative. My pediatrician said it

is very eery the similarities between both kids. He didn't diagnose

the and ID Doc. did but my pedi is learning. Her symptoms were

the exact same as my son. I am sure this is going to happen again

with her in a couple weeks. My son has not had a vefer in 116

days...this is a record. The ID doc did lots of tests on my son and

determined it was with him. Could it be w/my daughter

too? I thought that couldn't happen. I thought I had read an email

lately with someone who has 2 kids with it...is that a for sure

diagnosis? Any help would be appreciated!

Hello,

It is thrue that my two little girls (26 months) have both been

diagnosis .

But it as a very particular situation because they are twin and they

are monozygotic. Which means that they have the same DNA.

Keep cool, your daughter had high fever only one time it can happen

to everybody. It is too early to be afraid!

A lot of children have fever from time to time without endure a lot

of test.

You are particularly worry because of your experience with your

older son.

But I am sure that if she was your first child you would not be so

anxious.

THERE are NO documented cases of in two children within the same

family. All cases where two children had periodic fevers ended up having one

of the genetic disorders such as FMF, HIDs or TRAPs.

Please do not panic.

First off has your diagnosed child had all the DNA studies?

God Bless

Fran
