Margaret...... is on Seroquel, and before that Risperadal. I think it made

a tremendous improvement in his " autistic behaviors " . Before was born

(and before risperdal) was a bit aggressive. The psychiatrist was worried

that he'd hurt the baby. Now, I don't worry (mostly). If he does something

it's from not thinking, not from being mad or anything. Tell that school

psychiatrist if she can cure his autism, we could use her, too.

..... has been bowling, and enjoyed it tremendously. I know if I

had a sitter who offered to take my son to any kind of recreational even I would

jump for joy. I just don't have the energy to deal with him at home, church and

be able to take him out for fun. I guess the questions you need to ask are what

are his sensory issues? If he's noise sensitive, a skating rink may not be the

best place. If he's ok in loud places it might be therapeutic.....the movement

in circles... As to the hearing impaired, the only person I know well is only 10

years old. Our new pastor has a son who wears dual hearing aides.

Wife to Dewight

Mom to , 10 yrs, DS, PDD-NOS and celiac

and , 19 months and strong-willed

Both Homeschooled

Whoever wrote about this,

Thanks for responding. Yea I think he has some sensory issues, but you

better try to do it, otherwise you wouldn't know if the kid likes to skate.

I don't think he's good in loud places, but I might try something else. Do

you know any websites that have simple sign language on them? I'm thinking

of each time I babysitt this family- thinking of teaching the youngest one

who's 4 some simple signs.
