Guest guest
On one of my home schooling lists I just got told that I'm a conspiracy theorist. One of the members had posted how wonderful Baron-Cohen's geek gets lucky studies are and I posted materials, lot's of materials, relating pollution in Silicon Valley and the Texas study as well to show how pollution can raise autism rates. It's like I never posted anything. The people in the computer tech industry they know don't go fishing. Tuna is available anywhere, and Austin with higher rates of autism is a " green city. " >If pollution is the cause, then >the worst-polluted areas should have the highest rates of autism, >but that isn't >what we see. The air pollution, in particular, in Austin, is much better than >other Texas cities that have lower autism rates. Sure, there's mercury in our >fish, but there's plenty of mercury in canned tuna, as well, and that goes >everywhere. Also, I'm not convinced, at all, that mercury has any relation to >autism, though in large amounts, it is known to cause many other health >problems. > >Also, I'm really disinterested in conspiracy theories, unless there is some >pretty hefty evidence for them. I don't think that anyone, anywhere is trying >to conceal the true cause(s) of autism. I was hoping at least one person reading this over there would go, Hmmmm, but I'm not wasting my time anymore. They should rename themselves the Neurodiversity Home Schooling Group. Taking my ball and heading home, Avril
