Guest guest
Yes, thank you . Please forgive those of us on this list (who have become very jaded over the years) for any negative comments that have been made. I didn't watch Oprah this a.m. (I am also in Chicago) because I was afraid the episode would be very one-sided and exonerate vaccines/thimerosal. As I watch my son's tranformation into the happy, healthy, socially engaging child he was meant to be, it is hard to hear the lies over and over again, as I am sure many here would agree. Fortunately the episode will be re- broadcast tonight and I look forward to watching. Congratulations on joining the board of SM and NAA! Guest guest
If I recall, recently posted here in defence of some of the attacks on her mom - I'm not trying to defend AS or downplay anyone's anger or frustration with them - and there are lots of good questions as to how or why this is all playing out - and AS will choose its own direction (and ultimately decides its own fate) - but right now if says that her mom is Mother then I have to respect her - 'cause apparently carries nukes. Like the one she dropped on every one of those self-serving media medical bobble-head bastards today -- sssssssssssssmokin'.... - I haven't seen the show but if it went down as reported here, you restored my faith in humanity. I'll give my son an extra big hug from you tonite - there are a lot of super-women out there who've gone above and beyond for all our kids - IMHO you are one of them. as for Oprah - ok - you helped too (seriously, not too shabby ;-) -randy > > > > I have a feeling Oprah had this show put together so quickly and it > was LIVE > > on purpose. Guest guest
I LOVED IT... did you all catch the words exchanged from OPRAH to KATIE... that it seems katie was not going to let that show go by without her speaking out on the vaccine cause. I wonder if before they went on.. that maybe she told OPRAH... if I don't get to say it.. I walk...? who knows.. I can only assume... LiaSee what's free at AOL.com. Guest guest
I wanted to express my thanks to for putting the message out there about the connection between autism and vaccines.... The thing that bugged me though, (and did anyone else notice this?) was when Oprah said she would " let " her make the comment after they came back from the break.....I am glad she did the show (for awareness purposes and the possibility that it made one parent or HOPEFULLY alot of parents dealing with diagnosis look into the vaccine and autism link) and that she mentioned vaccines before or that idiot pediatrician but this just confirms my opinion that I have had for a long time about Oprah...and its not a good one.... I hope like everyone else she would consider doing a show specifically about autism and its connection to vaccination but with that " letting her " comment, I wouldnt hold my breath Ellen
Guest guest
Of course the " idiot Pediatrician " won't recognize nor accept a link to the vaccine induced autism...it would mean she would have to live with the idea of giving her own two son's autism... I've seen her input on other shows and it's the same ol' same ol' everytime she opens her mouth.... Guest guest
Way to GO !!! I personally thank you for having the guts to get the hot potatoe out there. How silly does that sound? That Dr. on the other hand, COWARD. It's simply evil and Karma will deal with her. I've seen that uncomfortable look on a Dr.s face before, and that cautious manner of speaking is also familiar. I just can't get over how they/she could continue shooting these kids up knowing or deliberately not knowing and call it a living. Oprah is untouchable, that's why she can open that can of worms. I will continue to watch. She handled in a way only Oprah can. Follow up show... recovery, DAN, Biomeds and $$ research dollars going to DAN. > > > > THANK YOU KATIE!!!! > > > > I hope what you did today opens some minds and makes people think. > And > > starts some action!! Guest guest
Speaking of hot potatoes that doctor looked as if she was being pelted by a few dozen hot potatoes when Oprah mentioned something about vaccines to her. For anyone who tivo'd the episode, try this. When the doctor talks and says something about the vaccine issue being refuted or whatever she said. Stop the video there. Get out your ruler. Put it on slow-mo. Her nose actually grew about an inch while she was talking > > > > > > THANK YOU KATIE!!!! > > > > > > I hope what you did today opens some minds and makes people > think. > > And > > > starts some action!! Guest guest
- On behalf of the thousands of parents that will take a little closer look into the vaccines, choose to vaccinate safer or not at all, I THANK YOU! I could see that it took a lot of courage to speak up on Oprah and say what you did- I hope this becomes a trend and more people start speaking up. Your comments will definitely help hundreds if not thousands of others that will do the research and keep thier child from these injuries. Thank you and keep speaking up! We need this now more than ever. Holly Austin > > >>> > > > > >>> > > Thank you for " opening the can " . I started to cry when > I heard > > >> > your words. Guest guest
Whow, wait just a second. Dr.Anju Batra? She looks like Dr. Anju Usman's twin sister. Could she have been planted in the audience to provide an " in " for the vaccine debate? Doesn't Dr. Usman have 2 autistic sons? I went to F. A. I. R. & watched her vaccine/autism interview while the Oprah segment was on, it looked exactly like her. jbb > > > > > > > > THANK YOU KATIE!!!! > > > > > > > > I hope what you did today opens some minds and makes people > > think. > > > And > > > > starts some action!! Guest guest
How could ANYONE confuse Dr Anju Usman with this Dr Anshu Batra (sp?) that was on the Oprah show today!?!?! They look nothing alike. Dr Usman is petite, and soft spoken - nothing like the woman on Oprah today.. > > > > > > > > > > THANK YOU KATIE!!!! > > > > > > > > > > I hope what you did today opens some minds and makes people > > > think. > > > > And > > > > > starts some action!! Guest guest
Absolutely, positively, unequivocally Dr. Anju Usman was NOT on the Oprah Show today...no mistaking it...no minor possibility. NOT ON THE SHOW. 2 different people. She is our doctor. Not her. No, No, No....Not saying it anger, just want to make sure no one thinks that even maybe that was her. I understand the confusion, though...easy mistake to make. -------------- Original message -------------- From: "thefitzenreiterfamily" <thefitzenreiterfamily@...> Could be the same person. Guest guest
Yeah, Judy... there's a passing, very, very slight resemblance between Anshu Batra and Anju Usman. But look at the FAIR video again... and look at the Oprah video. They still wouldn't even pass for sisters. Anju Usman is awesome. Anshu Batra is....well... NOT. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > THANK YOU KATIE!!!! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I hope what you did today opens some minds and makes > > people > > > > > think. > > > > > > And > > > > > > > starts some action!! Guest guest
Throwing my own Thank you to in! , We know it took a lot for you to stand so strong today. The thing that struck me was the look that came over you when you stood up and challenged the doctor on this issue. We could see you actually shaking a bit from what I can only assume is the anger and frustration so many parents feel when these doctors say that the theory about vaccines has been refuted. My husband and I actually high fived as soon as you spoke up. And, as an added comment...I don't think Oprah's comment about what the CDC says was intended to refute 's words. Oprah very fairly brought the issue up which is a hell of lot more than we can expect from most. If you listen carefully, the doctor said that the link between vaccines and autism has been refuted. She said in a way that was, as usual, very dismissive. Once spoke up, Oprah looked at the doctor and carefully worded her response in saying that the " cdc has not found evidence to such a link " (paraphrasing). I felt she was helping by correcting the doctor in saying that the CDC has not said the link is not there but only that they state they couldn't find the evidence to support a link. Very different wording between her and the doctor and I believe she was attempting to show that no evidence does not mean it is not there. I thought her comment helped 's position. Just my thoughts. Guest guest
Hi Ellen, In defense of Oprah, I have watched many of her shows and, like many other shows, they are on a schedule to fit everything in that they want to discuss, play clips, etc. They, and Oprah, often say things like " I am going to let you get your comment in here... " as a way of letting the topic go another direction before she gets back to what was supposed to be next. I did not get the impression at all that Oprah did not want the topic brought up...she brought it up herself and like someone else said...she opened the door to let walk through it. Col > > I wanted to express my thanks to for putting the message out > there about the connection between autism and vaccines.... > > The thing that bugged me though, (and did anyone else notice this?) > was when Oprah said she would " let " her make the comment after they > came back from the break.....I am glad she did the show (for awareness > purposes and the possibility that it made one parent or HOPEFULLY alot > of parents dealing with diagnosis look into the vaccine and autism > link) and that she mentioned vaccines before or that idiot > pediatrician but this just confirms my opinion that I have had for a > long time about Oprah...and its not a good one.... > > I hope like everyone else she would consider doing a show specifically > about autism and its connection to vaccination but with that " letting > her " comment, I wouldnt hold my breath > > Ellen >
Guest guest
I took it alittle different probably because of the YEARS that alot of years that parents including myself have been writing to Oprah to ask her to talk about autism and the issue of vaccines. Then when she brought up the CDC and asked the pedi(I keep forgetting her name but I guess it shows you how important her opinion to me is **rolling my eyes**) to acknowledge the fact that the CDC refutes the link.... Just kinda bugged me.....but Oprah's always bugged me... LOL Ellen > > > > I wanted to express my thanks to for putting the message out > > there about the connection between autism and vaccines.... > > > > The thing that bugged me though, (and did anyone else notice this?) > > was when Oprah said she would " let " her make the comment after they > > came back from the break.....I am glad she did the show (for awareness > > purposes and the possibility that it made one parent or HOPEFULLY alot > > of parents dealing with diagnosis look into the vaccine and autism > > link) and that she mentioned vaccines before or that idiot > > pediatrician but this just confirms my opinion that I have had for a > > long time about Oprah...and its not a good one.... > > > > I hope like everyone else she would consider doing a show specifically > > about autism and its connection to vaccination but with that " letting > > her " comment, I wouldnt hold my breath > > > > Ellen > > >
