games,

ashton likes to play go fishing, lucky ducks, candyland, chutes and ladders

and puppy racers, not really family time games but we make it work. i have

bought a lot of dominoes and made sequencing games on them by using picture

this and other symbols for matching and routines. she likes that.... we also

do things like the monkey game and bean bag toss...... and twister of course

, my hubby really likes that especially when the kdis are in bed....hehe take

care, leah

Well Joan. Maddie is not at that game stage yet. However, I'll be watching

this thread for ideas when we get there.

As you requested, I'll ignore electronic games, though I have to say on a

personal level that I am astonished that Ian is now playing with 's

Game Boy and playing it well. That said...

I have, unfortunately, been surprised when Ian is able to play certain

games, like Go Fish and War, and that saddens me because I guess I've been

underestimating him.

We are getting him Trouble, Tri-ominoes, and Kerplunk for Christmas.

Trouble seems pretty straightforward, I'm hoping he can manage Tri-ominoes,

and Kerplunk really doesn't take much savvy. I tend not to adapt the games,

because that just gets confusing. Either he can (and he keeps surprising me

with what that includes) or can't play, and if he can't, we come up with

alternatives not adaptations.

Mom to Ian (2/89),

Hi Joan,

Same with . We're lucky if he will pay attention when we do

Itsy-Bitsy Spider! But I am sure interested in what games everybody else is

doing for if/when we get to that point!

loves games of all kinds. Right now we have lin, the board game,

yahtzee, Trouble, Candy Land, Shoots and Ladders, Phase 10 (with dice). The

only adapting that I make for him is to do the counting for him. On the dice

games, I tell him what he's looking for and help him decide what to keep. I do

have to keep reminding him that he can't change the dice to something he likes

better.

nathans loves uno, he always wants " cards " even at school, we just draw one

card at a time not until you get the colore required, and we dont use some of

the cards such as reverse or skip. soe other games nathan loves is trouble,

oh chutes and latters but that one is hard to foolw wich direction to go back

and forth, but helps wit numbber recog and counting, we have a board/card

game called sequence he understands mostly, just match pic of card to card

and put chips on, he hasnt quite figured ut you need 5 in row to win, but

likes to play it, and we are currently working on skip-bo, he is fairly good

at this game, getting to get what number comes next, and its only numbers up

to 12, i do beleive there is a kids version out now too, maybe a xmas

present, shhhh, go fish is a fun one, and scooby doo memory yippee his

fav,lol i could go on, we play lots of board and card games here. shawna.

does david get phase ten, we have it and play it with adults but thought

maybe too complicated as of yet for nathan i could be underestimating him

though, but many adults weve played it with even have trouble with it. but if

he does like it all the power to him, it is fun. shawna.
