Guest guest
As you requested, I'll ignore electronic games, though I have to say on a personal level that I am astonished that Ian is now playing with 's Game Boy and playing it well. That said... I have, unfortunately, been surprised when Ian is able to play certain games, like Go Fish and War, and that saddens me because I guess I've been underestimating him. We are getting him Trouble, Tri-ominoes, and Kerplunk for Christmas. Trouble seems pretty straightforward, I'm hoping he can manage Tri-ominoes, and Kerplunk really doesn't take much savvy. I tend not to adapt the games, because that just gets confusing. Either he can (and he keeps surprising me with what that includes) or can't play, and if he can't, we come up with alternatives not adaptations. Guest guest
loves games of all kinds. Right now we have lin, the board game, yahtzee, Trouble, Candy Land, Shoots and Ladders, Phase 10 (with dice). The only adapting that I make for him is to do the counting for him. On the dice games, I tell him what he's looking for and help him decide what to keep. I do have to keep reminding him that he can't change the dice to something he likes better.
