am,

This is NOT common with children with . For the most part children with

seem to be healthier than " normal " children.... and seem to NOT get

" normal " childhood illness'...

The immune system does not appear the be suppressed in any way with

.... Now with the other disorders.... there could be a problem...

Has your child had the complete Immune studies done as well as " complement "

studies? These diagnostic tests will show a breakdown of the IGE, IGM, IGD,

IGA, IGG etc....

How high are the possible fevers? and how long do the low grade temps

last??? Just wondering.

- thanks for the quick response. We have not done any Immune

testing - is there a site you could send me to which would have more

information about this?

The possible fevers get up to 102-103 - never anything higher

than 103 and even that hasn't been for very long. Usually the fevers

last 6-7 days, but they start off low (for 2 days) and then go up.

As far as the non- fevers (the ones off the schedule and with

other symptoms), this is the 3rd day of this low grade fever. The

last time we had one, the fever was higher - but different than the

others in that it started high (102) and lasted only 3 days. The

doctors think these are unrelated to the fevers because they

have other symptoms. She's definitely got a cold this time and the

fever has started less than a week since the last one ended. Any

thoughts?

Thanks again for your help!!

ann,

My son Drew has pretty much the typical symptoms, and I know

others say their children are usually healthier than other children

other than during and episode but that unfortunately has not been

true for us. He will be 3 in November and has had mono, lyme

disease, hand foot and mouth twice, roseola, croup, allergies, too

many ear infections to count, strep a few times, sinus infections,

and many colds, as well as some low grade fevers inbetween. Until

recently, he would run low grade for a few days prior to spiking up

high. His last few fevers have spiked high quickly. He has had the

immune studies done that Fran mentioned below in the past, which all

came back ok. He just had another series run Wednesday and we

haven't gotten the results yet. He seems to pick up whatever is

going around.
