Guest guest
Hi I have a question... Maddie was a week late with her fever episode and the night before we were to leave for vacation she started running a low temp. 100. The last 2 years she's typically started low and quickly risen to 104's with no other symptoms but some leg pain. Motrin/Tylenol lowers a degree or so but that's about it. She never complains or we can tell she has fever until it's 102 or higher. The last episode was the same high temp but she also had joint pain (knees, feet and wrist), tummy ache, vomitting a few times, headaches, bad breath, mouth ulcer, etc... However THIS episode she's having now started Tuesday night with the 100 temp. she had joint pain. Her fever didn't raise to 102 until the next day right before she had some tummy pain and vomitted. Wed. She had joint pain and remained 99-100 all day and today rose to 101 at lunch and that's it. My question is, has anyone else expereinced pretty steady low grade fevers for the duration WITHOUT the predisone and other medicines. She's on no medication (besides the Amoxil she's always been on 2 times a day every day because she doesn't have a spleen) She's still in the process of waiting for he genetic testing to come back, so we don't have a diagnosis, therefore no other meds. In the past 2 years she has never had an episode like this. Thanks in advance. Guest guest
Well, Quintin has definately had a couple of " low grade/mild " episodes. But (a) he seems to have mild episodes in general, when compared to other patients - he rarely goes about 102.4 and is usually in the 101.5-102 range at an epsiode peak. And ( his episodes are highly unpredictable in terms of when they will come as well (see my recent post " Crank up the confusion " ). So I don't know how " typical " we are. But Quintin definately has had at least 3 episodes in the last year where he never went over 100. And I am starting to suspect that he may be having extremely mild episodes that don't even hit 100 and so we don't notice. But that might explain our seemingly random cycle lengths. - Gwen (and Quintin, age 4) P.S Quintin is also not on any medication except occassional Tylenol. > Hi > I have a question...
