Guest guest Posted October 21, 2004 Report Share Posted October 21, 2004 Our son, who is almost 4 years old takes Cimetidine 200mg tablets 3 times a day, morning, afternoon and 1 1/2 tablets in the evening. He has been taking them for 1 1/2 months and has no problem at all taking the pills. And as far as Tagament vs Cimetidine, I think they are the same thing only the medical insurance pays for the cimetidine. She takes 2 300mg pills a day -- one in the morning and one at night. She weighs 75 lbs now and was about 68 lbs when it was prescribed by her pediatrician. We do the Cimetidine vs. the Tagamet because that's what the insurance pays for -- they're the same. She's been fever free since January except for what might have been an episode in August. (I thought it was and she had all the symptoms, but then her older brother came down with a high fever 2 days later so maybe it really was a virus!) She got the dosage info from a 1999 Clinical Rheumatology article I brought to her from this sight. (20-40mg/kg/day) Hope this helps and works for Shane.
