A very potent steroid and it is WHY your child is having SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many episodes SOOOOOOOOOOOOOo close. I WOULD NOT USE THIS DRUG this OFTEN. The long term effects can cause secondary problems. As a seasoned nurse... I rarely like to say this... BUT you need to discuss this AT LENGTH with your doctor. Using Steroids is ok if a single dose works well and DOES NOT cause the fevers to come closer and closer. The way you describe the fevers... and their RAPID and FREQUENT onset.... Appears to be a NEGATIVE side effect some children have with Prednsione and . God Bless, Fran PS... Cimetidine is TAGAMET... It is a drug given for about 6 months twice a day, dose depending on child's weight... It does NOT have immediate effect... may take 1-5 months to see ANY effect... IF it works the child is weaned off the medication and may remain fever free. It has some very good results here on the list...
