My son was exactly 2 yrs old when he had his tonsils out and has been

free for 3 years. (It took one year after the tonsilectomy to get rid of ALL

the symptoms.)

Hi,

My son ph was 2.10 yrs old and he had his tonsils out (also

adenoids).... He continues to get fever episodes. He had severe tonsil

involvement starting at almost 2 yrs old... before that no or minimal tonsil

involvement.

Currently his fevers are spreading further and further... at 2.5 they

started to spread.... but at that point he also developed canker sores.

I decided with his ENT that we should remove the tonsils to help lessen the

difficult symptoms we were dealing with.

I am pleased we removed his tonsils... however we continue to get fevers....

we also get " throat " involvement.... when the episode comes... white

throat... Minus tonsils being there!!!

This month... ph really looked as if he were getting full blown

episode... BUT we did not. He did get really enlarged lymph nodes..... in

his neck... (posterior) and he had two large mouth sores under his

tongue.... he was also cranky... BUT no fever. We are at 3 months which

right on target with his record!!!

It is recommended NOT to remove tonsils before 3... but again that can vary

depending on the child's condition.... (not only kids)

I would be very careful of removing earlier than 2...

God Bless,
