Guest guest
Jamine My daughter has had vomiting not associated with a fever. She also has cycles with no fever now that she is on Cimetidine. She hasn't had any vomiting since May (Yeah!!!!) but prior to that it was a frequent problem for us. Christy Mom to 4 y/o Missouri Valley Ia >>> JamineLL@... 08/24/04 09:46AM >>> Several times in the past before was diagnosed, would have episodes of vomiting in the middle of the night. The vomiting would happen only once each night, around 2 AM. There is no gagging or coughing preceding the vomiting, and the result was very thick and pasty. (I'm sorry to be so graphic, but it's not like a stomach virus and I'm wondering if others have a similar experience.) When this has happened in the past (Jan and Feb), the vomiting always occurred when her fever was 103+. However, the last two nights, she has vomited approximately 2 AM but no fever or other symptoms. She is due for an episode approximately 10 days from now. She has been taking cimetidine (3 ML twice daily) for two months, although she has not skipped a fever yet. My first thought was maybe it was the medication, but then I remembered that she had the same thing happen before she started taking the medication. Of course, I have a call in to the pediatrician about it, but I was curious if anyone else's child has had similar symptoms. Guest guest
ph almost always vomited at night.... Not so much lately that he is older... As an infant he would vomit in the middle of the night... the first, second and third day.... It most likely has something to do with the temp elevating... because kids who do not have and fever disorders who get high fevers from virus or bacteria will usually vomit when the temp elevates rapidly... When I worked in the hospital it was very common on peds... This is another common symptom seen in kids with WHEN the kid elevates high and rapidly.... Guest guest
Having had a child with constipation issues, that is my first thought rather than the cast. Has she had regular bm's? Constipation is very common with both a cast and scoliosis. Just a thought. Hope she's feeling better soon! My daughter Nadya is in her 2nd cast and her doctor had decided to leave this one on for 3 months. Her next casting is going to be on the 25th of this month. The past couple of days Nadya's has been vomiting just about everything she is taking in, She has no fever, and no other signs of illness. My thought is maybe her cast is too tight? I am wondering if anyone else has had any similar issues? Nadya's Mom 2nd Cast
