Guest guest
This is a 2-way brag. Today when went to get dressed, he asked me if he would wear his big-boy underwear instead of the pull-up. I hesitated, but consented. Wednesday we go to the church for a Bible study, and the kids play in the nursery with the custodian/child care lady (she's great - wears so many hats around the church), so I was a little leery of letting him wear underwear, but I let him. We got running late, and I forgot he didn't have a pull-up on when his therapist got here (she goes with us to help him socialize). When we got back and after we ate lunch, suddenly said, bathroom! and went running. That's when I realized that he had gone all morning with no accident! That's brag number one. When I realized, I mentioned it to him. I asked him if he wanted to tell the good news. He actually got embarrassed and said no. (I made sure I told her out of his earshot, but only because embarrassment is such a big milestone for ). Now that she knows, I can respect the " don't tell anyone " attitude. But that's brag number 2: he never gets embarrassed! I let him keep on the big-boy underwear until he has an accident. He also didn't want me to tell the doctor that he sometimes wets his pants. I told him it would be between me, him and the doctor, and that no one else needed to know (I guess it's a good thing he can't read, or else I shouldn't really be telling you all, but anyway.....that's what moms are for, to embarrass you). I think there may be a physical reason for his incontinence. It's almost like he can't really feel when he has to go. But enough on that.....
