Guest guest
If any of you are Nat. Public Radio listeners, you may have hear a few " spippets " about autism today. First, a researcher from the Nt. Inst. of Neurology/Stroke found 4 enzymes elevated at birth that seem to predict autism. One is VIP. They didn't say the other 3 (POOP) and the website for both NPR and NINS SUCK. The researcher is a Dr. K. (either or Kathy - hey I was in the back yard). They also told of another researcher who found that the area in a normal person's brain where one recognizes faces is not used in autism. Their " object " place in the brain lights up when they are shown pictures of faces. no wonder they can't read social cues. If anyone else heard this, or knows the reserch(er) with the enzymes, PLEASE get back to me. THANKS Kara
