Guest guest Report post Posted April 16, 2000 : Need help finding where to order the book " Right Services for Autistic Kids " by , on the web site it says coming soon, I can't wait that long!! When I read The " Out-of Sync Child " by Carol Kranowitz I said they were talking about . has the best OT at school, she is really into sensory activities and says that is a BIG problem for our children. She is even concerned about what school will be going into next year. Last fall we started going to private OT, so would be getting ot more than once a week and the two try to work together by communicating back and forth via a notebook, private speech, music therapy and swimming. We also do therapuetic listening at home. This is the first year that has had therapists working with her who knew how to help students with autism and I can see many good changes. Not only does the speech therapist work with but she gives me suggestions to use at home. Does anyone use schedules for their children I need help with the weekend scheduling?? I just finished reading " The Child With Special Needs " by Greenspan was kind of everwhelmed when thinking of spending how many hours a day doing floortime (is this what we are doing when our children are home all day with us in the summer time) but most of the children that he was working with were much younger than , she's 13. He does say that 15 is too early to give up on interative therapy and education. This is the age that our county is so fast to start training(????) kids in special ed. Any other books that would be helpful? JoAnn, Mom to
