Guest guest
,perhaps you need to meet the therapist,b .mod does nt usually require the co operation of the person being modified, initially it may involve manipulating s environment and all his carers changing their behaviour, the premise is all behaviuor is learnt and is only produced if it is in some way, rewarding to the person producing it,this is not an easy therapy to do properly and wont be a quick fix but if you persist it probably work especially in such a young child,Pat
Guest guest
One of the things that we have learned is that environmental manipulations can work even if the party who is being " modified " is not cognitively aware that his/her behavior is being changed. The basis of Discrete Trials as I understand it is that behaviors can be taught by repitition. This works best the younger the child is at the time of implementation. So while the dr's style may be repugnant, maybe just maybe he is trying to encourage you in another path.
