Why do we think that the author of these messages is actually Rosie?

She’s been doing it for years. She talks about being online and her blog all the time. If you read her blog, she’s got hundreds of personal photos on there. She also makes these BORING ass movies of her life with Imovie (since her the Rosie show). So, I know she is on a computer & knows how to use it. Plus, she write in lower case because she says she’s too lazy- which I totally believe.

Also, She said in one of her autism responses that she has friends

who have children with autism, that is why she wanted to do a show. I

wonder what her friends think of the show?

My son is 11, he was diagnosed at 2. I am so tired of awareness. We

are more than aware of autism. We are so over awareness. I understand

that her friends children may be young and they are not as far along

as we are. However, I don't really see what it was about that show

that was so damn orignal in the awareness realm?

They offered a misleading picture that children can be artistic-

autistic (I've had people say oh, your child is artistic and assume

he is good in art).

And, the most misleading part of the show was the mother who wrote

the book about how they normalized her son with ABA. She made it

sound like you just call up the ABA people and they'll fix your kid

for free. Now all of us know how hard it is to get good ABA and it

certainly doesn't come for free. Some have been lucky to get good

services through their schools but that is the exception. Geez, I bet

all those other parents felt like losers for not being able to fix

their kids with that free ABA. She offered false hope on that one.

The only part I thought was decent was the parents at the end with

the 17 year old and how there is nothing for adults with autism and

they will have to support her because their is not enough funding to

help all these soon to be adults. So, where do they go from there?

Maybe Rosie could do something about that? Just telling people look

this is really a bad situtaion, oh well. Show over.

Oh and Temple Grandin praising anxiety meds wasn't a big help either.

I think parents are pressured enough to put their kids on meds. I'm

not a fan of meds and I know it's a topic people get all passionate

about. But allowing Temple to talk about meds and not allowing

someone to talk about diets and supplements was not balanced view of

how to treat autism.

I wonder why she even wanted Kirby there? What was the point?

There is no way she read EOH because if she did, she would never tell

she " liked " it. That is the last thing anybody would say after

reading EOH.

What if they had not researched causation with lung cancer or foetal alcohol syndrome, or syphilis or thalidomide .........

Seems like nobody has the balls to touch this subject but Imus.

Re: Re: Rosie's Blog UNBELIEVABLE

Wait. Rosie decided that a WHOLE show about autism would not include mercury, thimerosal, vaccines, cause, or biomedical treatments? As a host she has THAT much power? I thought a producer makes that decision. When you have a show like Oprah or Montel- it’s THEIR show. But, the View had been around for about 8 years or so. It’s not the Rosie show- like someone else wrote- it’s THE VIEW--- it’s supposed to be 4 women from different ages and backgrounds sharing their views on different subjects. Damn you Meredith Viera! On 2/3/07 12:31 PM, " Nanstiel" <erikautismmedia (DOT) org> wrote:

Hi

Just for the record

1) Rosie said she thought the book was “very good,”

not that she liked it.

2) She told me it was the producers who decided to focus

only on families, and not get into causation. She said it wasn’t “her”

show, and added: “When you are in someone else’s living room, you

don’t move around the furniture.”

That doesn’t seem to jive with what she wrote on her blog, but I am just reporting what I heard.

PS: Arthur and I had a really good discussion yesterday,

moderated by Ackerman for Autism One Radio. It will be webcast

Feb 9th, I think.

Most of the talk was about rising numbers vs better reporting, but we also addressed the California numbers

Hope you can tune in.

Cheers

DK

I think the producers that called DK knew at that point they were not going there but they also knew that all of the DK fans would be tuning in to see if he was on. Marketing scheme.

Yeah, , that's right. I remember you saying that she told you it wasn't her

show... then

she responds to MY message saying it was HER DECISION.

So she either lied to you, or she lied in her reply to me.

I've seen smaller network affiliates throughout the country (not in the major

cities) do

balanced reporting on the controversy. But you're right, Imus is one of the few

well known

media personas that will address it honestly.

Careful, some folks don't find the subject matter funny in any way.

But nothing is impossible. Besides, I might really be a lesbian

trapped inside a man's body.

Running and ducking. . .

I don't know, for me, it appeared to be more a physical/mechanical thing than a sexual preference thing.

I'm sort of glad you said that! I told other advocates that I was not

afraid to talk to the ACIP personally because I KNEW not one of them would

last a weekend in my home (I have 3 vaccine-injured boys).
