Guest guest
Here is what I submitted: The lack of quality and meaningful educational and social services given to autistic children in the US. This is important because failure to provide intensive 1:1 services dooms autistic children to have their condition unremediated despite scientific evidence that many can be greatly helped if they get these services. This sets the stage for lifetime residential placement when they age, which costs more than ten times what early intervention costs. Couple this with a severe lack of respite and other social services for families with autistic children increases the likelihood that these families will experience crisies that again will lead to much higher costs associated with turning custody of the autistic child over to the State, as well as many tragic injuries and deaths of autistic persons which could have been avoided. __________________________________________________
