Guest guest
Anyone see the Today show this morning? Dr. Snyderman did a segment on genes and diseases. They started talking about this little boy who had Fragile X. His mother said had she known she was a carrier, she would have had her eggs removed, fertilized outside of her body, and only used the eggs that did not have the Fagile X gene. They talked about other diseases like breast cancer, ovarian cancer, down syndrome, cystic fibrosis, sickle cell and a few more. The female doctor they interviewed was naming off diseases and developmental delays that could be screened for through genetic testing. She implied that they could screen for AUTISM!!!! Really, since when???? No mention of what may trigger these diseases via the environment. Let's mislead people into thinking autism is all genetic. Shame on the Today Show for allowing that misinformation to be part of their story.
