Guest guest
Why did the chicken cross the road? or Why did ASA, all these years anti-biomed, decide to partner with the Autism Research Institute? Here is the result of a little market research that may provide a clue. The following is a listing of the top 5 autism email discussion lists on groups by membership size. It's like an intelligence test question. Which one of the 5 does not fit the group and you will understand why the ASA is seeing the light about biomedical treatment of autism. (By the way, this list, EOHarm is in the top 25 out of nearly 2,000 total! Not bad for being only a year and a half old.) GFCFKids 9904 Members, Archives: Membership required This list is unmoderated and unrestricted. The principle aim of this list is to provide a discussion forum for parents of children on the autism spectrum who are avoiding gluten and casein and other substances in their children's diets. We hope that the discussions will include practical information and tips on following a GFCF(etc) diet; scientific research and opinion; the latest developments in understanding GFCF(etc) diet-related health problems; your personal stories and experiences with ...(more) 6708 Members, Archives: Public To discuss current issues related to the increasing incidence of autism & the potential link between excessive mercury exposure via thimerosal in infant vaccines. THIS IS NOT AN INFORMATION ONLY SITE. If you are just starting this journey and looking for information, then below are some links that we hope will be of some help to you: If you are simply seeking information about the DAN! protocol and/ or chelation, ...(more) VerbalBehavior 3926 Members, Archives: Membership required The focus of this list is teaching verbal behavior (VB) within a program of applied behavior analysis (ABA). B.F. Skinner's 1957 analysis of verbal behavior looked at the functions of language over its forms, and described numerous verbal operants, or units of language. ABA/VB in this context addresses difficulties in the development of communication seen in most individuals with autism and other related disabilities, in part by emphasizing functional language and tying it to motivational ...(more)The top four bio-medical groups total about 270,000 members. Given the huge volume of email each list generates it is highly doubtful there is much overlap of list membership. This is where the autism community is today: biomedical, biomedical, biomedical. That we have to drag CAN and Autism Speaks kicking and screaming to represent our interests medically and politically is absurd. Let us make 2007 the year we hold these research fundraisers' feet to the fire: Put the money up for research and treatment relevant to the autism community or close up!
