She has a masters degree in special education, learning disabilities/social-emotional disorders, and an extensive background in addictions and psychiatric disorders. She currently teaches at a public high school in an alternative program for students at risk of dropping out. She has two daughters, , 13, and , 11. When was diagnosed as autistic eleven years ago, autism was a rare and incurable, psychiatric disorder. has watched this rare disorder evolve into the epidemic that we now know was fueled by vaccines and biologicals containing thimerosal. Her desire to heal her own child from thimerosal injury has developed into activism for medical, political, legal, and educational reform for all families affected by autism.
