Guest guest
Yes, that's me. , whose writings I really like, had talked about some favorite books. I am an avid reader, and offered my two cents on some of my favorites. It is the only time I have posted to his website. Are you doing a search on me? I my last post here I stated openly that I have reviewed " their " side of the debate as well, and gave a brief description of how it affected my thought process. I guess I could be considered bi- partisan. I am definitely aware that 's position is in direct opposition to this group's, and I do share some (but not all) of his views. It so happens I also share some views with this group. I hope a middle- of-the-road position is not morally offensive to those here. Guest guest
Steve; What do you think of Leitch's position that he will try to cure his daughter if she asks for help when she grows up but he won't do anything to help her now? Wouldn't you call that hypocritical of his whole philosophy? > > > > Just curious if this is the same Steve Dionne? > > http://www.kevinleitch.co.uk/wp/?p=430 > > > > Maybe it's not, maybe it is - maybe it doesn't mean anything if it > is > > the same person. Guest guest
- I am not here to defend 's views. He seems to speak for himself quite openly. Also, that is not my understanding of his position. According to what I have read on his site, he is using numerous forms of therapy for his daughter. Just not any bio- medical treatments that he feels are going to impact his daughter's autism. I support his approach on this topic. I know this may gall some of you, but if you read my recent posts, you will find that I share his views on that aspect of this debate. And the truth is, as I have said, my son is showing great improvement without using any of these approaches. I also have heard and acknowledge that many of your children are showing great improvement based on the treatment choices you have made, which makes me very happy. It is my sincere hope that all of our children improve, regardless of the type of treatment utilized. And it is the responsibility of all of us to practice due diligence on what those treatment options should be. While our decisions may differ, our goals are the same, and there is nothing wrong with trying to discover the best of both worlds in this confusing debate. Guest guest
Steve; said that he would try to cure his daughter on a radio interview recently. This goes against his belief that curing autism is killing the autistic person. So, if he wants to maintain his position about curing being akin to murder, he has, in effect, stated that he would kill his daughter. That makes as much sense to me as anything else that is said by Neurodiversity. > > > > > > > > Just curious if this is the same Steve Dionne? > > > > http://www.kevinleitch.co.uk/wp/?p=430 > > > > > > > > Maybe it's not, maybe it is - maybe it doesn't mean anything > if > > it > > > is > > > > the same person. Guest guest
- Your argument revolves around semantics, not reality. Of course has not stated that he will kill his daughter. That is an absolutely ludicrous conclusion to reach. I sense you are not a big fan of 's, maybe we should agree to disagree and get off this subject. Guest guest
If you are an avid reader and are truly serious about learning as much as you can about this subject - then I suggest you start reading the sources that you were provided with here to better position yourself with the information you supposedly are seeking. I initially also stumbled across the viewpoints of the neurodiverse people, but after educating myself by reading the opposing valid research and studies - have learned and educated myself of what it was that I was seeking. I guess it all depends on what info. you are seeking. I don't know that you will find many people here that are opposed to certain behavioral therapies - but most of us also want our children physically healthy and free of toxins, viruses, etc. You have your work cut out for you though - and need to consider what you could and should be doing for your afflicted child with autism, as well as educating yourself about how to prevent autism and other autoimmune disorders with your yet unborn child - and that may very well mean a paradigm shift of conditioned mentality - that vaccinations are necessary for so called " life threatening " diseases. Who is really benefitting from these vaccinations? If you still believe that vaccinations are necessary, then why not wait until your unborn baby is at least 2 years old and use a much more conservative vaccination schedule? Once you begin to educate yourself about these so called " life threatening " illnesses, and the ingredients in the vaccines - I doubt that you opt for that option either though. " The Sanctity of Human Blood " would be a great source to start educating yourself about vaccinations for your unborn child. http://www.amazon.com/Sanctity-Human-Blood-Vaccination- Immunization/dp/1929487002 > > > > Just curious if this is the same Steve Dionne? > > http://www.kevinleitch.co.uk/wp/?p=430 > > > > Maybe it's not, maybe it is - maybe it doesn't mean anything if it > is > > the same person. Guest guest
Steve I would also suggest that if you are serious about this issue for your own child/children (if you indeed have an affected child; I don't have time to read your past posts), that you run the appropriate tests to see if your child is mercury poisoned and what could other potential causative agents. Yes, there are indeed known causative agents to " autism. " The term " autism " is not a medical term and too many broad-sweeping generalizations are made about these kids, who represent many different endophenotypes within the same broad " disorder. " No one is served at stopping at a DSM-IV neurological diagnosis without probing further into the underlying medical condition.
