I saw one of those anti-cure videos. I was going to add a message

but I ran out of time that a high funtioning " aspie " is compeltely

different then a non-verbal, stemming, head banging child with

chronic constipation. There is also a good video from the wife

on " Everbody loves " but the " aspies " slam her as well.

The thing about the neurodiversity types is that they have never

been able to explain to me why I should consider normal a seven-year

old (or a sixteen year old) who can't speak and smears his own feces

on the wall. And I don't think anyone in the mainstream is willing

to believe that autism is a perectly acceptable way for a human

being to be.

And some of the neurodiversity parents need to justify their

decision to do nothing and see nothing. Vilifying us helps them feel

better about their own decisions.

In New York I tried to get these " voices for the autistic " to help

us pass legislation to end health insurance company discrimination

against people with autism. None of the neurodiversityu folks did a

thing.

; It's true you can't change their beliefs. You can

include your sane opinion of their idiotic beliefs to help other

uninitiated parents avoid being sucked into their nonsense.

The ND's efforts to expropriate the term " autism " from the disabled,

repackaged to some fuzzy defined non-disabled " different " , seems to

have limited success in the media. Their advocacy of " autism " simply

rejects those disabled by it as an insignificant small, irrelevant

number who don't really represent what autism is all about, aka our kids.

I've come to the conclusion that the ND's don't collectively have

enough social skills to pull themselves together to become a serious

political threat to our efforts. They are however, capable of pulling

off disjointed media political stunts that sometimes need to be answered.

I've come to the conclusion that the ND's don't collectively haveenough social skills to pull themselves together toThis implies the ND actually are on the spectrum themselves.  I think only a small number would fit the definition.

I suspect you're right about the dx. If you read their blogs they are

just soaked with sarcasm -- this is decidedly NOT an autism trait.

Probably a few borderline personality disorder types given the vitriol

spewed. But even if it's not an ASD, other differential dx disorders

often come with social skill deficits.

(amateur speculation here acknowledged).
