Diedre Imus personally gave Santorum a public whiplashing about his "colloquy" that claimed C.A.A. would accept the 2004 IOM report as the final word on research concerning thimerosal link with autism. If I remember correctly, it was that report that declared "no evidence of a link between autism and thimerosal" and determined that further research on this subject would be "non-productive".

It was actually sad listening to Santorum "stumble and mumble" his explanation of what he said on the floor of the Senate. Apparently, he would have us believe that he "mis-stated his position during his Senate colloquy". How is that for someone who is not shy about taking credit for the months and months of hard-effort he put into getting widespread support of autism community for the "environmental research of thimerosal" in C.A.A.?

The link below leads to an interesting picture of Senator Bill Frist, wearing an Autism Speaks pin, as he addresses autism on the floor of the United States Senate.
