In the last 48 hours, we have received a

variety of emails from the community. Some people applaud our stance on

the Combating Autism Act. And then there are those who have called us

clueless, shallow, naive, idiots, curse words and, my favorite, " the Spawn of Satan. "

There really is nothing quite like having to digest the fact that a member

of your own community can compare you to one of the Devil's own,

although I suppose that I can take comfort in the fact that I am merely

considered spawn of the devil and not, in fact, the Anti-Christ, himself. Whew.

For those of you who have sent back notes that were positive, we

thank you immensely.

For those of you who wrote back with thoughtful questions on how we arrived at

our decision to continue the dialogue and expressed your concerns, we also

thank you.

For those who sent negative remarks, and especially to the person who can

discern who is, and who is not, a direct descendant of the Devil, while you are obviously entitled to your opinions,

it might behoove you to note that

the American Academy

of Pediatrics (AAP) and Big Pharma DO NOT support the Combating Autism

Act bill.

And WHY is that? Hmmmm. Why wouldn't they support it?

Because they realize that, while this legislation might not have blown the

lid off the can-o-worms with regard to the vaccine/mercury issue the way that

you personally think it should,

something tantamount to a nuclear explosion, it is clear that the can

opener has hit the can.

Everyone has opened a can at one time or another.

This piece of legislation breaks the seal. It makes that little whooshing

noise that you get when the can is pierced by a can opener. Of course, we have

to keep pushing, twisting and turning until we get the can opener all the way

around so that we can spill out the contents. However, until the can is

pierced, you can smack at it all you want with the can opener...it just won't

open the can.

Piercing the can makes them scared of what this could very well lead to.

We like that. We want them to be afraid of what they have done.

More than that, we want to get the can-o-worms all the way open. Just

screaming about the fact that the can exists does NOT open it.

Showing people the can exists does not expose what is inside.

Members of our community were lined up outside of the

AAP convention last fall fussing at the them for their stance on

everything that has to do with vaccines, autism and everything in between.

Unlocking Autism firmly believes in the

vaccine/autism link.

We have from the second we were formed. Nothing has changed. We will go

to our graves knowing that is what caused autism in our own children. We

will work relentlessly to make things better for injured children and to

prevent children from being injured in the first place, the same way that we

have since our own children were diagnosed. Battle fronts may shift from time to time as

we fight this war but

nothing will ever change that.

Want to pick a side? That's fine.

Please do.

Unlocking Autism just can't bring ourselves to side with the AAP and Big

Pharma, especially Big Pharma, to help derail this bill.

If you want to side with them, that is, of

course, your choice.

We are certain that they would like nothing better than to have your support.

Has " Big Pharma " or the AAP taken a public position on this bill? If

Senator Judd Gregg signed on as a sponsor it is unlikely that he would

have done so without the pharmaceutical lobby blessing.

Is there verification of pharma's and AAP's position?

Thanks,

RJK
