Guest guest
Yep, here too. Except that I live in an excruciatingly small town. At the 4H fair yesterday, I saw 2 autism stickers, then I went to the grocery where the car next to me had an awareness magnet. I got gas the other day and the car at the next pump had the magnet – they were the parents of a teacher and they were here in town on vacation. I can’t go anywhere, ever without someone knowing a child with autism. The only place where I don’t have a bunch of them are at the homeschool group events. Most of those kids weren’t vaccinated though (I asked). But , it’s just better diagnosing. L From: EOHarm [mailto:EOHarm ] On Behalf Of christine@... Guest guest
I am seeing it more and more as well. It breaks my heart. Once you know what it is, it's everywhere...4 children in my neighborhood are diagnosed. Like you, I have the bumper sticker minivan...I think the same thing when I'm stuck in traffic! Probably the best thing that happened where that is concerned was just two weeks ago in the Home Depot parking lot. A mom was looking for red spray paint to paint a border around their house for their 4 year old autistic son not to cross when she saw my car in the parking lot. We parked right next to each other, and after a 45 minute conversation, she agreed to join our support group. She hadn't heard of the mercury connection. As far as others bringing up the mercury connection, listen to this...my daughter had to get her eyes checked for kindergarten. On her medical history form, I wrote "heavy metal toxicity", not autism. I no longer call her autistic, as she is not...she is suffering the effects of mercury poisoning...anyway...when the nurse brought us back into the office to go over our forms, I was waiting for the raised eyebrows when she simply repsonds... Guest guest
I find the same thing here-so many kowing about autismor someone with it, but I also still find an inordinate number of people who know nothing about vaccine dangers or the epidemic. I suspect these people are non-readers-of newspapers, books and don't watch the news. You'd almost have to live in a capsule not to have heard about it. as far as I'm concerned. Guest guest
I too am see and hearing of more. I called a young mother recently. I had not talked to her for three years. At that time my recommendation for her preschooler: educate herself to ABA & find a good school program. If she could not find the right program then home school. I called her w/an apology, told her of the EOHarm group. She had not heard of the group. But to my amazement she said that she was not vaccinating her children autism or not. She went on to say not one of her friends were vaccinating. The private school she was able to afford for both of her children were not pushing vaccination! The school nurse was in support of her wishes! She also had obtained the state approved papers to opt-out of vaccination! She is having the proper test done for heavy metals! I think it is MidwestLab. She is a twenty-something mother. There must be a buzz among that group & that is what we need to sustain. In a slightly different direction, our school attorney knows me from parent advocacy. He seems to begin to listen w/one ear about autism. I keep using the word tsunami. I keep reminding him it is coming and no amount of tinkering w/child find, definitions and using the justice system after calling the students behavior disordered will slow it down. The schools will be overwhelmed and the already dissatisified legislators will come down hard. Guest guest
There is a huge backlash to the vaccination schedule. It is the result of incompetence at historical levels by our out of touch arrogant and incredibly ignorant public health officials. No one trusts them anymore. They threw away their trust. They brought this on themselves. The reaction is a logical consequence of what they did. Of course they will blame the messenger. We say: Long Live the Messenger!!!! Guest guest
Funny that you post this, I was just in tears about this same realization last week and thought of posting. We have about 5 new kids represented per month at our support group. In the past month I have discovered that my favorite checkout lady and the exterminator both have kids with ASD. as well as my sister's friend from book club. One of the kids from P's first preschool started suffering from severe seizures at 18 months (just ran back into that mom last week). I have met 2 moms new to diagnosis at the grocery store this month to help them with GFCF. To top it off, my 7 month old neice is not " connecting. " YES her mom has given her a VERY FEW vaccines (doctors have some STRANGE power over people) and is now stopping. It just goes on and one, I can't believe how prevalent it is. I know some of this is because I am on the board of the local fundraising group and a Rescue Angel, but alot of it is just because it's EVERYWHERE. Sometimes I want to run screaming down the street it is so upsetting and the longer the truth is covered up, the more children drop into this hell. It is overwhelmingly sickening. > > You know, " the powers that be " can do as many studies as they want- but i'm > really seeing the epidemic. Guest guest
My car bears a GR bumpersticker: the blue one that says " Autism Is Reversible. " That sticker has led to all sorts of conversations in parking lots and gas stations. Recently, a car pulled up alongside me at a stop light and the driver signaled me to roll down my window. He had been following me for over 20 miles, but couldn't quite make out the web site on the bottom of the sticker. Every time you go to a store, the theatre, to a restaurant, to a sporting event, etc., you can look around you and do the math to estimate out how many of those adults have kids on the spectrum. Your estimate won't be far off. > > I love the " autism: it's no mystery, it's the mercury " shirt I have. Max > has one too. Guest guest
Have definitely seen it increasing even among my own friends and family... people I *did not* originally meet through " autism " . At my son's School I was pushing for full mainstreaming last year. The Autism teacher told me I was pushing my son too fast, he was not ready for full inclusion, etc. etc. Right at the beginning of the School year they called me and said he would be fully mainstreamed after all. It turns out the autism class filled up so much with new incoming students that they pushed as many kids into full inclusion as they could! Imagine that! He starts his second year of full inclusion (1st grade) in a couple of weeks. I think I'm the only parent doing bio-medical treatment that I know of. I keep spreading the word, but I am having to let my son's progress do most of the talking I guess. ~ Karin
Guest guest
It is happening more and more. My son has been diagnosed for just over two years, and two years ago I hardly saw a bumper sticker or car magnet. I see them all the time now, in fact last week I saw a car with 5-6 magnets on it, on the doors and everywhere and I told my husband to speed up on the freeway to see if it was someone I knew. LOL! I've been hailed down in parking lots and drive throughs thanks to my " autism is reversible " GR bumper sticker. I've been down the natural foods isle in the grocery store and heard parents talking to each other or the clerks asking about which foods don't have gluten, the poor puzzled clerks are never helpful, and I have found myself butting in to offer help, even though I'm usually very shy and two years ago would never have done that. And from me being outspoken about vaccines on a private mommy group, although I'm know a few mothers think I'm annoying and sick of hearing my " claims " , I've got moms to think twice about vaccines, or at least spread them out more, avoid combining some, and email me all the time wanting more info. One parent who has an older son with ADHD and her younger two with terrible asthma problems went dairy free and was shocked how well some of their constant sickness cleared right up. One other thing I'm seeing, and I'd love to know if everyone else is too, I notice locally that kids that are over 6 years old have a more moderate diagnosis, and most of the parents that are just now getting diagnosis, or in the past two years like me, with kids aged 2-5 are more mild and lots of PDD-NOS or sensory, vs the 6+ crowd labled ASD. Anyone else seeing similar diagnosis as well?

Anyone else seeing similar diagnosis as well? that's an interesting question. I guess because I've been at it for about 4.5 years now with my almost 7 yr old son (I was an aba therapist before that)- most people I meet the kids are on the older side. Don't know too many 2-3 year olds. They are there- I just don't bump into them at school functions because the kids go to different schools. I'm definately hearing a lot of " 1 kid has autism and 1 kid has aspergers " .
Guest guest
When my youngest began speech therapy in 2004 at a 0-3 yr old clinic, the path told me they were seeing about the lowest case load of autism they've seen. But, what she was seeing huge increases of were kids, like my Dinah, kids that had the mild speech delays, some scattering of symptoms, but not on spectrum. We wondered if it was because the reduced mercury levels in vaccines are still harming, but not to the point of autism. But, my Dinah hasn't had immunizations, but i do have metal amalgams. I think preschoolers with autism today are not going to be as severe because mom and dad can start treatment much earlier, thanks to parents of older kids arming the net with info on how to treat. Guest guest
My son wouldn't have as bad of a diagnosis at 18 months as he did at 2 1/2 and I KNOW if I hadn't started bio-med he'd be even sicker today/more severe (almost 6) because of all the damage to the stomach from the foods, just more years of getting sicker instead of healthier. Guest guest
I wear mine everywhere, too. I always wear it on field trips with my kids, to their schools, the pediatricians office, and out on the weekends shopping and running errands. A stocker at Whole Foods asked me about it. Said he quit getting the flu shot a few years ago because of the mercury content, but had never heard of the autism connection! Guest guest
for what immune deficiencies? Do they have IMMUNE deregulation? Re: it's been happening more and moreYes. This observation would probably fit many families, though I know there are likely exceptions. I think in my case it was how severe my mercury burden was with my second child, as compared to my first, and the fact that they both recieved the hep B at birth. My youngest was premature with other problems. I think that there are many factors that could muddy the waters (such as Rhogam and flu shots, etc.) Our 8 yr old was originally diagnosed with moderate-high functioning autism. Now, thanks to biomedical interventions, he is very HFA (but with many immune deficiencies, PANDAS, and asthma). Our 6 yr old is far more affected, but is coming along at his own pace and an extremely affectionate child.
