Guest guest
This is just an idea I'm putting out here- but what if we pooled contributions {only what anybody can spare} and either make a donation towards the charity org that Taya was working hard for when she passed on? Or- a pooled donation to another org that will help the same people Taya was working with. An idea- Heiffer international- http://www.heifer.org/site/c.edJRKQNiFiG/b.204586/k.9430/Gift_Catalog.ht\ m?msource=kw1844 & gclid=CLLvir7JyJYCFRMvHgodAxkozA <http://www.heifer.org/site/c.edJRKQNiFiG/b.204586/k.9430/Gift_Catalog.h\ tm?msource=kw1844 & gclid=CLLvir7JyJYCFRMvHgodAxkozA> Depending on what we could raise Heiffer Int provides livestock {like the cow Taya helped someone get to become self sufficent} for people in developing countries. It works because a bee hive, flock of chickens, herd of goats, cattle, brings in reliable income and get bred to increase a families chance at survival. Another org idea is Women for Women Int. http://www.womenforwomen.org/sponsor-a-woman/sponsor-a-woman.php <http://www.womenforwomen.org/sponsor-a-woman/sponsor-a-woman.php> $27 {or more} a month to another woman surviving through recent violence genocide and war zones. The woman can spend the money on whatever she needs. Many buy antibiotics, vacines, medical care and education for their children, materials to open a business {ie a loom, yarn, stock to open a tea stand, etc}. You correspond with each other as a cultural exchange and emotional support as well beyond just a money donotion. The money also gets to the woman in need without conditions red tape and beuracrital interference or delays. This is an idea. I know many of us have little cash to donate after paying rent utilities gas and other suvival needs. I'm not out to pressure anyone or twist your financial arms so to speak. I figured a pooled donation could be an easier way foor a lot of folks memorialize Taya's memory spirit and work.
