Guest guest
Lori (and others), For now i put pure aloe vera on it with a sterile loose gauze on top... im wondering though if the aloe vera is a bad idea for keeping it from drying out/keeping it moisturized, as it stays sticky which isnt dry...but its also for healing, so? I called doc this morning for an appt tomorrow, as with a closer look its starting to peel slightly... which isnt good and the beginning of stage 2... I'm staying off of it til i see doc - should i remove aloe vera in meantime or keep on you think... im concerned about it drying out. maybe another moisturizer thats not as tacky/wet as the aloe vera? uhh...not now... if i cant go to canada next week over this i'll cry. thanks for any advice, > > > > > > since having problem with my stomach since xmas i have been sleeping with > > > the bed head propped up to avoid reflux. > > > > > > despite having an air pressure mattress i now have a pressure sore in the > > > most elegant of places, between my bottom cheeks, tailbone area. it is > > very > > > red and purple in one place though not hot to touch, the top layer of skin > > > has peeled away. it is not really open just peeled and doesnt ooze > > > > > > i have no experience of sores and have nurse coming this week. > > > > > > how much do i have to stay off it and out of my chair? trying to limit > > time > > > in chair to 2 hours max and i have a gel cushion > > > > > > top tips to getting rid of this fast please as i just cant get comfy in > > > chair or bed > > > > > > thanks > > > linda > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
I find aloe to be irritating. I agree with Lori on the Duoderm-type protection. I wash, dry, cover, and leave it alone for 3 days. > > Lori (and others), > > For now i put pure aloe vera on it with a sterile loose gauze on top... im wondering though if the aloe vera is a bad idea for keeping it from drying out/keeping it moisturized, as it stays sticky which isnt dry...but its also for healing, so? > > I called doc this morning for an appt tomorrow, as with a closer look its starting to peel slightly... which isnt good and the beginning of stage 2... > > I'm staying off of it til i see doc - should i remove aloe vera in meantime or keep on you think... im concerned about it drying out. maybe another moisturizer thats not as tacky/wet as the aloe vera? > > uhh...not now... if i cant go to canada next week over this i'll cry. > > thanks for any advice, > > > >
