The winning entry came from Hope Holman for her mother Crystal. Holman says her mom cares for her and her brother saying, "She shows me how to be strong and that I can do anything." Congratulations to Crystal and Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers across Delmarva. Hope Holman wrote, "My mom is amazing. She has me and my four-year-old little brother; he has severe autism. He did not talk and the doctors said, `Put him in a nursing home,' and my mom said no. She homeschools me and my brother. She does eight hours for my brother six days a week and four hours for five days a week for me. She takes care of everyone in the house; she cleans and feeds us all and does the bills. My brother doesn't sleep so she has been on three hours of sleep for four years now. But my mom is always smiling. She is always so kind to others; she tries to help any mom that calls about autism. She will do anything for anyone. She encourages every person

that we see throughout the day. She makes sure that I have three fun days out for just me; she takes care of all of our bad days and makes all of us feel like champions. She shows me how to be strong and that I can do anything. She makes me laugh all the time and she wants to help so many babies of autism she helps with the support groups. Everyone that knows her knows she will help and give. She has not taken much time for herself in the last two years, so I do not have money to give her this wonderful day. She has not gone with with Daddy since before Christmas. She and Daddy have only been on a date three times in over two years. So please, please give my mom this miracle day. From her daughter Hope and her son Hayden."
