Our 6 month old cat's reaction to the rabies vaccine was a paralyzed hind

end. Both back legs he had to drag around for about 4 days. He was sick as

a dog (pun intended) too. My dogs only got Hg-free vaccines, and spaced

out. My cat needs to get a new shot cause he is a total killer - he has

taken down everything except a deer since we've lived here - bunnies, snake,

frog, mice (too many to count, they are like pez here) and even a groundhog.

Good cat.

what have I done to my cat?

I took our daughter's cat to the vet to get shots. They de-wormed and

gave her vaccines. Since she's not eating, drinking, feels hot, laying

around. What have I done to her precious cat? Do vaccine reactions

never end? Anyone have any advice?

That's why we got Smores shots, we have oppossums in the area and

raccoons. She also likes a squirrel, mouse, or chipmunk every so

often. Thanks for letting me know she got better. I figured it was

worth the risk, being a cat and all, but man do we love her!

Give that cat some cat nip! Good cat. Isn't cat nip like weed for

cats???

I won't give my 3 cats vaccines anymore. They can actually get cancer right

at the spot where the needle went in. I saw the brochure at the vets office

a few years ago- amazing....

yeah.. vax's are bad for cats too...

call the vet --though you may be told its " normal " ;(

but they can dehydrate and DIE quickly from it. So if its not drinking,

call the vet.

I suspect the cat will be better tomorrow. I'd give it until then to return to the vet. I stopped vaccinating my cats after the second one died of cancer 6 years ago. The remaining ones are very healthy-they are indoor cats, though. Animal vaccines screw up their systems just as children's vaccines screw up theirs. " M. I stopped vaccinating my dogs 4 years ago. My old dog is a beagle/ pointer, ?

mix and her

arthritis became a lot better once we stopped. She is now 14 (that's old for a

big dog) and

in very good health. She goes on walks for an hour every night with my husband,

two

boys, and our other dog, a Boston Terrior. She is half blind and deaf, but still

wags her tail

and jumps all the time, so she must be happy!

Thanks. She got very sleepy and was difficult to rouse, but then she

woke up, licked her kitten and walked down the hall. I think she ate a

little. 's been through so much in her young life, I'd hate to

know her cat died because her mom got it some shots!

WE just got a puppy to train for a service dog. How ironic that we

can't take the dog in certain places without vaccines who we bought to

help my daughter who is disabled because of vaccines?

He got better.

Maybe you can check more carefully what is in the vaccines they are giving and only do the minimal ones required, if that's possible. i know I can't leave my cats at the vet ever because they all require vaccines. Well, I took her back today. I asked the vet if it's normal for cats

to have vaccine reactions. She had not ate or drank since we got home

yesterday. The vet said, " It's not that she's allergic per se, it's

that vaccines are designed to create an immune response such that

antibodies develop; in your cat, that immune response is going

overboard... " I finally said, " Look, my middle daughter got autism at

9 mos from a hepb shot. I finally got the nerve up to get this cat

vaccinated (we've had her for a year) and this happens. I really think

God is trying to tell me something, I need to add my cats to the list

of no vaccines. "

They don't have a clue what we go through. This brought up all sorts

of stuff emotionally.

He gave her an IV, two other shots (one is an antibiotic, other was a

steriod). Then gave me prescrip of antibiotics to " prevent secondary

infection. " Gotta hand it to the vet though, charged me $12.
