Guest guest
I have an Aquatec bath chair/lift that I really like. It's the older model (probably the same one you had) that raises to the edge of the tub and is powered by water. The new one's have a reclining feature now, which is nice since my dad had to bend mine to make it recline. But they don't seem to have a removable headrest anymore. The one thing that they haven't improved on is the seat still looks unpadded. Even with a thick piece of foam under me I still bottom out. Aquatec has always been excellent when it comes to getting new covers and parts tho. & Ivy- service dog extraordinaire 24 y/o, SMA I/II www.k94life.org At 11:25 AM 2/15/2009, you wrote: >1c. Guest guest
Hi Joy, We have an Aquatec Beluga Bath Lift, never used, and need to sell it. To read about this battery operated bath lift, go to www.adaptivemall.com We would consider any reasonable offer. Purchase price is over $2,000 new. We live in N.C. > > Hi All,I'm looking into purchasing a bath lift chair-the kind that lowers into the tub so you can take a bath.I have a great shower chair, but I miss actually getting down into the water. There seems to be so many kinds of bath lifts, so I wondered if anyone here has one that they love or hate or can recommend.I had one years ago that was powered by water and now most seem to be battery powered. I wonder what the pros and cons are. Thanks for sharing > > > > >
Guest guest
Hi, I did have the aquatec but it was not a good idea for ouf family because my children were using the bath every day so my husband had to remove the aquatec every time I had finished my bath. The solution for us was the ergo-hoist. http://www.ergolab.ca/en/medical/leve-o-tech1.html Easy to use even if your alone !!!! Have a nice day Chantal SMA 2 mother of Karl SMA 2 > >1c. Guest guest
In the United States the Fair Housing Act lets people with disabilities make modifications to rental property as long as they repair things back to the way they were upon vacating if requested by the landlord. You're in the U.K., right? What are the anti- descrimiation laws there with regard to housing and disability? ? ? Others? > > >1c. Guest guest
Tammia, See page 6 and share this pamphlet with your landlord: http://www.hud.gov/offices/adm/hudclips/forms/files/1686.pdf Alana > > > >1c. Guest guest
This isn't true. You would take the hoist with you and repair any cosmetic damage. My friends and I have always taken our lifts, hoists, and door openers with us. I've usually left ramps behind. > > > > >1c. Guest guest
I'm sure a disability housing advocate can better explain your option and any funding resources. > > > > > >1c. Guest guest
Consult with Fair Housing First and your local ADA law pros but Alana's correct here. The lease item your mom's worried about is not above reasonable accommodatin under ADA law. It's a formality to prevent tenants from ripping walls down, adding sky windows etc. > > > > > >1c.
