Guest guest
http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/20060415/mumps_epidemic_ap_060415/20060415?hub=TopStories OK, now our news here in Canada is telling us that a mumps outbreak may be headed our way from the States. That was kind of like when we had the SARS outbreak here in Toronto, and U.S. citizens were advised to be wary of the problems we had here. A lot of us older folks in Toronto are immune to mumps because most of us had it as kids because there was NO VACCINE for it back in those days. Yet, now I have to worry whether my kids may get this disease when they are older, even though they have been immunized, because this stupid vaccine does not seem to have worked well with a good number of kids. I would have rather had that they had the mumps as children, so we would not have had to worry about possible complications after getting the mumps in later years. Why can't the folks in charge of health programs get that simple idea through their heads....that it may by better to allow kids to develop their own immunity to various common childhood diseases, than to inocculate them with a myriad of inadequately tested vaccines which may not do the job they were destined to do?
