Guest guest
A boy child or a girl child? Just asking because I have NO experience with boys. I do, however, have a girl who is actually way more comfortable in a polar fleece shawl type thing and lap blanket. We live in Kentucky and it's not all *that* cold here, so that is sufficient for her. If it's too cold for that, she doesn't need to be outside anyway ;0) I also know of a lot of people who have a coat that their child likes modified. They sew the front closed and have the back opened so that it can be just slid on from the front. That still leaves the trick of finding a coat that the child can still move their arms in. Guest guest
I am very small (53 lbs.) and have found that a capelet works great. Chuck got me a wool one that's very warm. The lining is silk so it's easy to move around inside because it's slippery. I had to alter it bu opening the two rear seams on each side. It allows me to tuck the cape down the back of my wheelchair seat. The slits allow for the front to drape over my arms and front without interference with from my seat belt or armrests. My arms aren't bound down. I got a petit size in the Jrs department and believe it would fit most small children. Guest guest
I wear a down-filled, rain-resistant zip-up jacket that I got from REI. It's very light that I can lift it and maneuver it to put it on without assistance. As with all jackets, you will need the movement to put your arms into sleeves, so it probably would not be a good recommendation for individuals with limited range mobility. I have found that this particular jacket is very great at what it does. I am very warm and never wet if I'm out in cold or rain. http://www.rei.com/product/753770?vcat=REI_ALL_CATEGORIES <3Kendra > > Title: Easy Wear Jacket > Address: http://www.wdrake.com/WalterDrake/Shopping/ProductDetail.aspx?CID=Clearance & SCID\ =Clearance & CollectionID=DC0000124 & SiteNum=0 & Sourcecode=15170693 > >
Guest guest
And Kendra's jacket could work well for folks with less mobility by cutting up the back and using velcro or hook fasteners. I cut holes under the arms of my dressier tops and all my jackets so my seatbelt can go through and be hidden underneath. > > I wear a down-filled, rain-resistant zip-up jacket that I got from > REI.
