Hidi, Hi, my son has been in helmet for about 8wks. I did not know the

difference either. The neuro never mentioned the band. I will ask ortho if

they do both and see what info they give me. At this point, I don't think ins

is willing to pay for a band after they already approved a helmet.

Hi,

I'm a new member here. My son has tort and plagio. He

got a helmet a couple of weeks ago. I didn't know

anything about a DOC Band until I found this site.

What exactly is the difference? I was wondering the

differences and why the DOC band was FDA approved and

the helmet not. Is my son a Guinea Pig using the

helmet for further research? I looked at some

pictures and they almost look the same except the

helmet comes down lower on the cheeks. I didn't like

that but they said they leave it like that to stop

rotation. I am fortunate because the Dr. prescribing

the helmet was in Boston about 15 Miles (but could be

2 hours with traffic) from me I can have it adjusted

at a clinic in my town.
