Interesting opportunity

Hi Group--

I have an interesting opportunity that I am not sure how to pursue... A

friend of mine from the neighborhood runs a company that sponsors medical

education seminars. She is planning one for the fall called, " best

practices in pediatrics " which will cover topics like ADHD, asthma, new

vaccines (like the new rotovirus and new HPV vaccines) (G-d help us), and

autism. She has not yet chosen her autism speaker(s), and she sounds very

open to input. I don't fully get how this works, but the speaker(s) need to

be funded. It is A LOT of $$$.... 6 figures.

But she wants and strives for an open exchange of ideas and science. She

would really like to offer these pediatricians information about the

biomedical approach, but she doesn't know how to pursue it. It sounds like

she has access to a BIG audience. The conference will be held in 5 cities,

and each will have 250 pediatricians. They then burn DVDs and send those to

30,000 more people.

Any thoughts about how to make an impact in this. I worry if we aren't

represented then these docs will all get the party line about genetic

research and heavy doses of risperdol. Please feel free to forward this to

anyone who might have input.

Hi andra,

I would suggest your friend contact Maureen McDonnell, who manages the

DAN! Conferences. Maureen would know the best DAN! pediatricians to

recommend. She is quite busy so your friend would have to contact her.
