Oh my... I only wish something like this were available in Europe. I have a

Permobil chair. I have to switch into a much more uncomfortable travel chair

simply because it is nearly impossible and very risky to load the Permobil into

the cargo hold. I fly a lot - four to six times a year.

This sounds amazing. They must have tapped into some sort of grant funding to

make this work economically. I'm in the DC region and will try it to Boston in

November if they're up and running. Thanks for pointing this out, .

All I can say is: AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!! We flew to Vegas in April, paid almost

$500/person, and watched h be miserable in those seats for hours. We had

decided that flying was no longer an option for h because the 3 1/2 hour

flight was so hard on her. If this really " takes off " (forgive the pun *LOL*)

then according to the site our tickets to Vegas would be roughly $192/person and

h could fly in her chair and be comfy!!!!!!!!

We're thinking a trip to New York for a Broadway show would be cool for a 13th

b-day ;0)

This really does seem too good to be true, I'm having a hard time believing it's

actually going to happen! I've always had such an awful time flying. This sounds

so great, I'm almost crying! PLEASE, if anyone gets more info/experience with

this service, keep us all informed!!

I've seen " PWD " used to refer specifically to power wheelchair

users, and I guess that's how I have used it. I always thought it

stood for something like Power Wheelchair Driver, although that

doesn't sound right. Am I wrong?

I contacted them a few months ago. I'm not sure they've actually

tapped into the necessary funds. They told be it'd be 3 years before

they're up and running. Seems like the airlines would be happy to

subsidize them to avoid dealing with us and our complicated chairs.
