Alana,

I am not Jeni- but I wanted to say I had the same concerns about purchasing one

for my son Brett- because he doesn't have a lot of movement when he has to hold

something. Last week, we were at a friends house and their son (has CP not SMA)

has less movement than Brett due to contractures and I was amazed at how

sensitive the Wii is. They said it kind of adapts to the user- he barely moved

the remote sometimes and other times he put it in his mouth to play- I was very

amazed! I think I just might buy it for Brett as a surprise when we get home

from his spinal surgery in a few weeks. Just thought I would add my two cents!

Thanks

Kristal

Re: Greetings everyone/ Jeni

Jeni,

My niece Jade, 13 also has type 2 and was encouraging me to try the

wii. I'm not sure if it'll work for me only using one hand. What do

you think?

> Hi ;0) I'm Jeni, mom to h who is 11 and also has type 2

(loosely speaking). I was just wondering if you had tried the Wii

system? h played with her friend ne and found it MUCH easier

to manipulate than the typical game controllers. I was initially

concerned because it can be such a physical activity, but it actually

takes very minimal movements to make it work.
