Guest guest
One thing I forgot to mention. I've done a lot of reading. I've heard several say that self abusiveness can be a sign of pain. The child is in pain, and just doesn't know how to deal with it. I know when had a headache, before he was verbal, he would bang his head. Course, he also did it out of frustration of not being able to communicate. We taught him sign language when he was about 2, and that was his road in to language. The GF diet has increased his utterances from 1-4 words to 2-6, so it has helped. Loriann
Guest guest
Hello, , and welcome to our list. My daughter , who is 9, can also be described as " self-abusive and difficult to maintain, " like your . The people on this list have been incredibly informative and supportive. I hope you find it to be the same. Hang in there, Maureen
Guest guest
I'm Alana, 41, SMA2. I live in Berkeley, CA with my partner of 7 years and 2 cats of 5 years with finickiness. I work part-time as a self- employed health care and cash benefits advocate, my partner is a computer programmer/data architect, and we're fairly well-occupied with fixing up the 1913 house we bought a year and a half ago. I'm working very little this summer so instead can work on a book I abandoned 12 years ago. Tell us about you!
