Thank you to everyone who encouraged us to talk about this with our specialists (our recently fired pediatrician had turned down the initial request). I'll let you know what Conner decides to do! I'm so grateful that he will have something to look forward to (as will the rest of our family)! > > Take care, > > Mom to Conner (12, combined immune deficiency, lymphadenopathy, > asthma, Hashimoto's disease and resolved adrenal insufficiency), > Hayden (12, unknown immune deficiency, IBS and moderate hearing loss/aided), > Evan (12, unknown immune deficiency, asthma and mild hearing loss/unaided), > and Kelsey - (10, unknown immune deficiency and asthma) > Please visit us at www.caringbridge.org/in/connersmith > > > >
Guest guest
we Congrats! We had the best time on ours! Charlie choose Disney World and we stayed at Give Kids The World - best week of my parenting life - and by whatever chance - not one child got sick. Guest guest
Have any of your kids gotten wished from Make-a-Wish? My daughter Satori (type II) will be getting her wish next week. It has taken almost a year, ten days shy. But, it has been worth the wait. I am not sure if I can post a link, but there is a newspaper article about it here. http://news.rgj.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070701/NEWS/707010343 If that doesn't work i'll post more info. Guest guest
A google alert....if you go to google.com, they have this thing where you can be notified if a keyword (you choose) appears in online publications. I put the word Spinal Muscular Atrophy in as my keyword - so I get e-mails pretty much every day from all over the world about stories with SMA in it. I do not always read them although I at least skim them over but this one caught my eye. I will forward the alert that I got abput Tori's story. I would love an e-mail with pics when it is all done....it is kkoehler47@... amd I am Kristal and I have a 7-1/2 year old son Brett with SMA II. Thanks for the update! Tori is so excited, there will be a follow up article in two weeks or so that should show more pictures. I actually posted the wrong link. http://news.rgj.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/ 20070627/DAYTON/706270375/1042 This is a better version of the story. The other one is an edited version from a different paper. A local news station is coming out to do a story the day it is delivered, but I don't know if it will be viewable online. It has actually been the number one emailed story for two days. Who knew anyone cared about storied that don't have blood in them!? If you would like send me your email address and I'll send some pictures when it comes. July 11th is the date so far... Fingers crossed. It is really amazing, it is insulated heated and cooled, will have a custom art table on one end. Six opening windows, little porch, window boxes for planting in, fully finished inside. The list goes on and on... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ No virus found in this incoming message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
