Guest guest
Issues with the MBTA Those of you who were at the February 20th DPC meeting heard from me about s-Finegold, et al., v. MBTA, the class-action lawsuit which Greater Boston Legal Services (GBLS)* settled on behalf of people with vision, hearing and mobility impairments. The settlement requires the MBTA to make major improvements to stations, buses and trains and to provide staff training and oversight to ensure that people with disabilities can use public transportation reliably and without enduring indignities. I just want to reiterate our desire to hear about access problems on the T so that we can ensure that the T is addressing those issues. If you have had any problems accessing the MBTA (e.g. trouble with the new automated fare system or difficulty using the elevators), I would love to hear your story. Your affidavit would be compiled with others to provide complete documentation of the problems encountered by people with disabilities while using the MBTA. Feel free also to contact me for more information. Thanks, a Rosenbloom Litigation Specialist, Greater Boston Legal Services (617)603-1564 (tel.), (617)371-1228 (TTY), ARosenbloom@ gbls.org *GBLS is the primary provider of free, civil legal services to low- income residents of greater Boston.
