I think it is like most lists where some of the members do most of the

talking (similar to real life).

Don't you find it interesting in the amount of comments to this question ? I

sure do. I've often wondered the same thing .

Maybe they're just really busy? I know there are days that checking my

e-mail doesn't even rank on the priority scale! I think a lot of people on the

list work, are in school and/or have children. It would be interesting, though,

if all 387 of us just sent an e-mail to let everyone know we're alive.

yes, very busy in my case...work and kids...but yesterday I was home with

the stomach flu...nothing on tv, so I read about a hundred sma list emails I

think lol.

I'm alive and well, but don't always have time to respond. And, sometimes I

don't feel like my opinion is worth expressing, or that any of you would

want to hear it. (since I am, as far as I know, sma free) Most of you know

that I helped care for Beck (sma I/II) and she was essentially my little

sister,

so sometimes I do know what you're talking about. If I feel like I really

have something to say, I respond...and I save all the emails, but they pile up

and I often get behind. Plus, I'm a fence sitter and change my mind a lot,

especially with everyone's convincing arguments. (I'm all about compromise)

I love to hear the stories...and of course many of you remind me of what

beck went through...especially dating and such. Maybe I can tell some of you

what beck and I went through with all of her dates. ( and I often

chaperoned or hosted at least the first dates...we have some pretty funny

stories)

And it's nice to hear about happy romances ( and Rob) and I like to hear

MJ's saga...she's so funny. and everyone else too of course...hope I didn't

go overboard here...

by the way...I just finished writing a tiny something about beck for the

next fsma newsletter. It's not much, basically the obit plus a couple

paragraphs.

Where are the 387 members of this list?

I have to say, is it just me or are others disappointed that this list

is supposedly so large--397 members---yet only a very small grp

post/are active on the list?

What do you think it would take to get more member participation, as I

feel we ALL have something to add, even if on a rare occasion.

I'm Derik just checking in as one of the 387 SMA adult onset

newly moved to Crestview Florida from Salinas Calif. age 49 and

counting 4 more days till 50. I check in ever so often and read whats up.

I

don't participate much because most topics don't pertain to me. And I havent yet

experianced many of the life experiances most of my fellow SMA'ers have. I

have a cane, a walker, a light weight wheel chair but avoid usage of any of

them.

I don't have aide, or assistance. Only wish I had a few nurses over for

dinner. I'm here learning and find myself way out on a limb with few on it yet

part

of the whole SMA disease. I'm learning how to live as well as possible after

being diagnosed around the year 2000. Yet suffered from SMA unknowingly since

15 when first felt symptoms. I have been retired from the work force after

some serious falls, injuries, diagnosis and a heart attack. I'm still doing

pretty good inspite of it all. So please count me in. I will continue to read

and

learn. And be here to help if my experiance can be useful. Thanks for the

group check up idea. Thats good managing. Derik

i'm here hehehe, but i need to say you this is normal, also in great lists

with more than 1000 is frequently, just 10 or 15 people talkin', it does

not means the others don't read and sometimes reply too...

Alguém mais do Brasil nessa lista?
