Guest guest
Greetings to all at the end of another year already! Due to an upheaval in apparently most areas at Trafford (the publisher of The Journey), I am disappointed to report that the updated version will not be available in time for Christmas; in fact, I’m still waiting on the proof! I apologize to those who were interested in copies as gifts. I was interested myself The proof was supposedly mailed today and should arrive by way of Turtle Express in early January. If you would like to be contacted as soon as the book is available, please e-mail and I will notify you regarding date of availability, assuming there will someday be one(!) and ordering information. There is no obligation to buy just because you’d like to be notified! The book (with CD) is $26, with minimal postage and tax for shipments only in North Carolina, and it may be purchased with MC, Visa, check, or money order. On a bright note concerning the book, my brother is in the process of revamping the web site and has included a few samples of the lullabies on the CD accompanying the book! Go to http:// balderdashe.com/the-jeffrey-journey/index.html to read about the book and http://balderdashe.com/the-jeffrey-journey/dreams/index.html to hear some samples. My mother wrote the music for , and it’s all beautiful. To those who submitted information for our daughter ’s senior project, Wednesday was ’s last official day of high school (NO MORE CALCULUS - HOORAY!), and she will have a chance to e-mail interested folks the paper she did for English regarding creativity in the education of students with SMA. Due to space restrictions, the paper wasn’t nearly as lengthy as she could have made it, but maybe it will be helpful in some ways. All responses were greatly appreciated!!! If you would like to be placed on a mailing list for periodic newsletters which include updates on many SMA-related projects and newsworthy tidbits, just e-mail. Some of you have been on the mailing list but did not get a recent newsletter because many AOL e-mails were returned for some reason. I tried to resend it, but they were returned the second time, too. Finally, although I don’t post on the boards often and have been less than prompt in responding to many e-mails, I keep up with one board daily and others as I can and do appreciate the pictures and notes sent. Your children are beautiful and a joy to watch as they celebrate birthdays and continue to baffle the doctors in all ways And if you ever need encouragement in any way, try keeping up with MJ (Purk), Victor (Alvarez), and the adults on SMA Friends! Many hugs and prayers to all, especially to those with new angels or angel anniversaries, and those facing illness and particularly major decisions. May the holidays for all be full of family, friends, good health, and way too many blessings and happy memories to count! Helen
