My son and I and his nurse recently went on a train to Philly,Pa.

from Lancaster,Pa. to the WCD EXPO Conference. ('s first time on

aTrain) Doorway getting into train was fine but, the turn to get into the

passenger section and door was very tight it even squeezed his wheels. He

has a Permobile Street powerchair it bearly fit through the inside passenger

door of the amtrak train. Has everyone else run into problems of chairs not

fitting? If his chair was a little bit bigger he would not have been able to

make the turn to the door way. Once we got into the train the area was

opened. It did not have any tiedowns. So he was able to move freely around

the area which he enjoyed. I am not sure how safe that is though. Local

Septa train entrances looked even smaller and bus schedules were confusing.

So we walked to Conference center not too bad.

With getting older also 17 now. How do or did other parents handle

the travel issues?

Travel states accessible but you find out later it really is not and your

chair does not fit. What do you do in that situation?

Also while we were at the conference came across a website that might be

helpful for information about planning cruise
