Re: reflux and urination (now there's a pair!)

Hi . I don't know if the relfux is SMA related or not but I do get that

sometimes. I have had heartburn and acid reflux for a while and I was put on

Prilosec. That pretty much eliminated the heartburn but I sometimes do

regurgitate just a little bit of food. After the news about Prilosec weakening

bones (something to do with the absorption of calcium) I am a little concerned.

I've had a few falls but no broken bones.

As far as urination, that is very familiar to me. I have type 3 and I'm 36.

About 6 years ago I began keeping a plastic urinal next to my bed. I didn't

like the idea at first but it makes things a whole lot easier. If I get a

sudden urge, and I'm in bed, I can just use that rather than try to get to the

bathroom too quickly and either not making it in time or stumble because I'm in

a hurry. I'd definitely recommend getting a couple of those. Feel free to

write if you have any more questions.

Tom

Thanks, Tom. I did go out and buy a urinal, so now he can avoid

accidents. Thanks for responding.

Plastic milk cartons can be a cheap substitute if you're a careful

person (they have sharp edges inside).

Ouch! Not a bad idea though, in a pinch (no pun intended!). I'll keep that

in mind. Thanks.
