i started with a sore throat on thursday with a lot of phelgm coming from my

throat, a couple of the times a day the phlegm was yellowish and a few flecks of

blood.

on friday throat was bit worse in morning but getting better by night.

occassional yellowish phlelgm. more clear phlegm than thurs, but again feel it

is coming from lower throat rather than chest. very husky voice!

today throat better also voice moving closer to normal however in morning more

phlegm coming from chest but that might be due to it settling there over night.

i am using the cough assist 4 times a day to help keep things moving

my questions are

1. at what point do you decide to take antibiotics

2. which antiobiotic do you feel is the best one to use? i have moved to a new

area and have a new gp who does not seem to understand how aggressive chest

infections need to be treated in relation to SMA and i am worried she has given

me the most effective antibiotic ( co-amoxiclav 375mg 3 times a day)

i dont feel ill just tired and a bit vague. luckily i dont get ill very often

but when i do it takes me sometime to get all of my 6 pa's up to speed with

using a cough assist, bipap, chest phyios etc so a list like this is great for

tips!
