Stem cells may be harvested from umbilical cords after birth takes place. So

the " Pro-Lifers " need to get a grip on reality. Many of us Texans think Bush

is an idiot. Hope he never develops Parkinson's disease!

You said you would donate your embryos, but the difference is that you can't

donate your embryos...unless you're pregnant. An embryo is a fertilized egg, so

it's a baby, regardless of how it was fertilized or how old it is. As hard as

it might be, here's the definition:

Human Definition: A fertilized egg that has begun cell division, often called a

pre-embryo (for pre-implantation embryo). An embryo is now defined as a later

stage, i.e. at the completion of " the pre-embryonic stage, which is considered

to end at about day 14. The term, embryo, is used to describe the early stages

of fetal growth, from conception to the eighth week of pregnancy.

Does anyone else think this is bad? I hate our joke of a president

mainly because of this! I know alot of people don't feel that way and

I'm not trying to start a political argument or debate on this. I'm not

political in any way. Call me cruel but there are so many kids that

need adopting in the world and he has a fit about using embryos to help

find cures for illnesses. I know I would give up my embryos for

research and I know of a few other people to do the same. I know I

haven't been on here in a really long time but I do still read most of

the emails and Mathieu is doing great. He's getting his Kidster Dani in

about 3-4 weeks. We wanted it by the time he turned 4 and its close

enough. He will be 4 on Friday. Ok Im done expressing myself. Sorry

presidency Wednesday, rejecting legislation to ease limits on federal

funding for research on stem cells obtained from embryos. " This bill

would support the taking of innocent human life of the hope of finding

medical benefits for others. It crosses a moral boundary that our

society needs to respect, so I vetoed it, " Bush said at a White House

event where he was surrounded by 18 families who " adopted " frozen

embryos that were not used by other couples, and then used those

I agree, Bush is a joke and he just keeps making himself look worse ... with

the stem cell bill, and keeping our troops over seas when we need to worry

about our country and our Troops .. we will not have any troops left if this

keeps up!

Bush will never have my vote!

Until he has or know someone close to him or any other higher power has a

child with a life threanting illness he/they are just never going to get it!

He needs to think out of his box! But I doubt that will ever happen

I just have to say that definition doesn't say anywhere that it is a baby.

I would still donate my embryos. I have 2 kids and am very blessed

with them.

I understand what you are saying but there is nothing wrong with this

topic. This is concerning ourselfs and our kids and grandkids.

Everyone is entittled to an opinion and is free to discuss about this

matter. If I didnt write about it someone else would have. No

disrespect but if you dont like the topic ignore it and let others that

would like to talk about it do so.

Amen .... until they have to suffer and deal with themselves having a

disease or watching someone close to them have something wrong ..... they will

I agree! Bush's veto of stem cell research is a very sad day for sure. As you

probably saw, many Republicans did vote for this bill. Obviously, they disagree

with their president. The reason so many republicans voted for this bill is

because it just makes sense. I also don't want to appear radical but in my view

President Bush lives in a very narrow minded world. He has a difficult time

seeing the big picture. I believe his veto will hurt him politically. I hope

so.
