How incredibly wonderful! Thank you for sharing the photos. Did it

take your breath away?...Was it noisy or peaceful?...Ow much time

between the jump and the landing?

Jumping vicariously,

Congratulations!! Way cool. You had a great photographer! Did they do

video as well?

Looks like they did have experience with disabled jumpers before, that's

cool.

Experiencing a malfunction on your first jump... guess that's a good

thing to get it out of the way. ;)

So is this the FIRST, or LAST jump?

At least now I understand where those single shoes come from that I see

out on the road here and there! ;)

They did video as well. I have a DVD of the entire day - from waiting

around til our group was called to suiting up and riding the plane

and jumping and landing - the whole thing! :) It's very cool to be

able to share. I would totally go again. Now that I know what to

expect, it'll probably be more enjoyable. I was very concentrated on

the process to try to understand what was going to happen and what

was happening that most of the free fall I was not looking around

much.

The free fall was odd as far as noise. I was screaming so loudly but

couldn't hear anything. The wind rushing past your ears is just very

noisy, I guess - but I didn't recognize it as noise. Parachuting was

soooo quiet and serene. You could hear each other whisper and

breathing. Everything was just so pretty up so high looking at the

world. I really liked parachuting down!

From 13,000 ft, we had about 1.5 minutes of free fall and then about

5-6 minutes of parachuting. While parachuting we were still falling

at 15 feet per SECOND! It did not feel that fast. It felt very slow

and awesome.

Kendra-

That is insane! Congratulations!! What company did you

go with? I'd love to hear more about how they handled

everything. Your photos are fantastic -- and now

you've got a good excuse to go buy new shoes!

The first thing I said to my boyfriend when I landed was " Can we go

shoe shopping? " :)

We went skydiving with the Parachute Center just outside of Lodi, CA.

www.parachutecenter.com/

They are very, very experienced with disabled skydivers. They knew how

to work our wheelchairs without instruction, proper carrying, and

extra safety devices that will make our experience easier and more

enjoyable.

While getting ready they took us into the room to suit up early and

helped us into the gear with ease (no lifting involved). Getting on

the plane I had a four person lift (two inside the plane, two outside)

passing me off. We had extra ties for our legs so they wouldn't bend

during the fall in awkward or painful positions. My friend also had

the arm he cannot use strapped to his chest for comfort. During the

fall, right before they pull the parachute, my instructor held my head

against his shoulder very sturdy because you get snapped into a

vertical position when the chute catches air. That part was a bit

rough on my knees, but my neck didn't feel a thing. When we were

landing, they had guys on the ground ready to catch me so I wouldn't

fall on the ground or have my instructor fall on top of me.

If you ever skydive, this is the company to go with!

awareness, allowing our fears to grow.
